            Tosca is a good foundation female and breeds up well. She has given us three female and one male cria. The last one surprised me big time. I was in the pen mid morning checking an over due female and Tosca comes walking out of the barn porch like it was no big deal. Then behind her comes "Button" saying wait for me Mom. Button was not due for three more weeks according to the big book of alpacas. other than the milk taking a few hours to come in the was no sign it was a preemie birth. The first I saw the cria it was up,dry and hungry. I was around the ranch, outside, all day and had no idea Tosca was in labor. She is easy to care for and a good mom.
